The exhibition “Colours of Orthodoxy. Poland” in Tbilisi

 
 Today is a great day because we are opening and exhibition about Orthodoxy in Poland – said the vice- chancellor of the University of Sergo Vardosanidze. He also highlighted the friendly relationship of Poland and Georgia, and mentioned St Gregory Peradze – a person that links both nations.

Today we are presenting Polish Orthodoxy, which is a part of the Polish national heritage – said the ambassador of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Cieszowski. The ambassador thanked The Saint Andrew Georgian University, the Georgian partner in the project, for help in organizing the event. Finally, he expressed his hopes for further fruitful unilateral cooperation. The dean of the Department of Economy and Administration, Mr. Vakhtang Sartania, also expressed his wish for a future cooperation.

Mr. Mariusz Nikiciuk, the president of the Orthodox Initiative OrthNet (the organization that manages Orthodox websites cerkiew.pl and orthphoto.net) told the gathered about the exhibition and the website Orthphoto. What followed, were a well-received performances of the Chelm and Poldasie Martyrs’ and St Gregory Peradze Choir (conducted by Fr. Łukasz Godun). Then, a Choir of the Herio University sang some religious and Georgian folk songs.

The visitors to the exhibition were, among others, students, Georgian supporters of the website Orthphoto.net as well as the world-famous Georgian film director, Mr. Michail Kabachidze and a Polish actor Mr. Tadeusz Chudecki. All of the visitors were under a great impression of the pictures shown at the exhibition. On that day as well, a Patriarch of Nicosia, Isaiah, was planning to see the exhibition.

The exhibition is open in the following week at the University building, Czawczawadze Street 53a, Tbilisi. Soon, a photo report from the exhibition is going to be published on our website. A short movie is going to be available on our youtube channel.
